7 Easy Steps to Installing Rich Pins for Your Blog | www.beyondtheblogger.com

Have you ever seen those pins on Pinterest that has those really great descriptions? Yeah, those are rich pins. I had been wanting rich pins on my pins from both my Beyond the Cover and Beyond the Blogger blogs, but I had no idea how to begin with the code Pinterest provided, because it looked so confusing and daunting.

I’m sure that if I gave it some real concentration and time, I might have figured it out with the large amount of code, but if there is an easier way to do it than I’m all for it!

What are Rich Pins?

Rich pins just have extra descriptions and details added to make the pins more useful for others.

There are several kinds of rich pins, but I’m highlighting Article rich pins, due to the fact that is what bloggers should be using as their type of rich pin.

With the article rich pins, you are given more details on your all your pins from your blog, which include: blog title, blog post description, and a link back to the post. All of these things can benefit bloggers, who want to get their names and brand out there.

Through my research, I found a couple of ways I could install rich pins through my blog…

Once you have installed and activated the WP Open Graph plugin, you will need to go to your setting to get it all set up… this is what it will look like.

As you can see, you will need to figure out which default image you would want and use find and copy the URL of the image. I just used my blog button that I had uploaded to my media library on my blog. I made sure the title of my blog and description of the blog was correct. I changed the “website” to “blog”.
